What is Relay Community Benefit Solutions?
Relay Community Benefit Solutions (Relay) helps nonprofits and mission-driven organizations move from strategy to implementation. While Beam Consulting specializes in strategic planning, fundraising strategy, and marketing and communications strategy, Relay provides hands-on support through fractional staffing, interim leadership, freelance services, and project management.
Relay is a wholly owned subsidiary of Beam Consulting, created to help organizations execute plans, sustain momentum, and build internal capacity.
Why did Beam Consulting launch Relay?
Over the years, our clients have consistently asked not just for strong plans, but for help carrying them out. Relay was created to meet that need. Many nonprofits have solid strategies but lack the time, staff, or specialized expertise to implement them.
Relay allows us to provide interim leaders, skilled freelancers, and experienced project managers who can step in quickly and keep work moving forward.
Is Beam Consulting being replaced by Relay?
Not at all. Beam Consulting is here to stay and will continue focusing on big-picture strategy, planning, and advisory services. Relay complements Beam’s work by providing implementation support.
Together, Beam and Relay offer seamless nonprofit consulting support, from vision and strategy through execution and results.
How do Beam and Relay work together?
Think of Beam as the architect and Relay as the builder. Beam helps design the right strategy. Relay provides the people and tools to put that strategy into action.
Organizations can engage Beam, Relay, or both, depending on their needs, capacity, and timeline.

Relay is designed to be flexible. You can engage us for a short-term project, a few hours a week, ongoing part-time support, or a full interim leadership role. Services can scale up or down as your needs change.
How does pricing work?
Relay offers flexible pricing models, including:

Pricing depends on the scope and duration of services. During an initial discovery conversation, we’ll design an approach that aligns with your goals and budget.
Can I work with Beam without working with Relay?
Yes. Many organizations will continue to work exclusively with Beam Consulting on strategic planning, fundraising strategy, or marketing strategy. Relay is an optional extension for clients who want additional implementation support.
Can I work with Relay without working with Beam?
Yes. You do not need to be a Beam client to engage Relay. If you need interim staffing, freelance support, or project management, Relay can help. If you later decide you want strategic planning support, Beam will be ready to partner with you.
What if I’m already a Beam Consulting client?
Nothing changes with your current engagement. Relay simply expands the range of services available to you. If you need extra capacity or hands-on implementation support, we can seamlessly integrate Relay services.
